Work the Multiple Choice questions before tackling the Open Response questions. Multiple Choice questions account for more than 60% of the test's total points and they are far less time consuming than the Open Response questions.

Always show all of your work and present it clearly when attending to the Open Response questions. Even if you do not answer the question correctly, you will earn partial credit if you demonstrate accurate knowledge of one or more relevant concepts or principles.

Spend most of your study time for this test on U.S. history since questions on it represent almost half the test.

Familiarize yourself with the major accomplishments and cultural markers and concepts associated with the major classic civilizations — Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire, and the Byzantine Empire.
