Two Demonstration Modules or "Demos" allow you to experience the approach to teaching and the quality of the instruction available through the MCAS-Pass Learning Lab. One Demo runs in Test Simulation Mode; this is the mode the MCAS-Pass Learning Lab uses for its assessment test modules. The other Demo runs in Tutorial & Review Mode, the mode used to when a student reviews his or her test performance or engages a tutorial module. Each Demo version provides the full functionality of the MCAS-Pass Learning Lab product (with the exception that the User Guide is disabled).

Although the Demos are functionally identical to the actual MCAS-Pass Learning Lab product, there are some differences:

bullet

The questions presented by the Demos are taken directly from past 10th Grade MCAS Mathematics tests. In contrast, all MCAS-Pass Learning Lab modules feature questions that are original creations derived through scientific analyses of past MCAS test results. Our module questions certainly bear similarities with past MCAS test questions, but they are not are not taken from past MCAS tests.

Both Demo versions feature five questions. However, MCAS-Pass Learning Lab test modules, which are designed to assess a student’s knowledge level, include 40 questions. These 40 modules run in Test Simulation Mode during the assessment phase and, once the test is completed, they revert to Test & Review to allow the student to review his or her performance and see explanations of how to solve the problem. MCAS-Pass Learning Lab tutorial modules include 15 questions and run in Test & Review Mode only.

Both Demo versions present the same set of five questions, yet each test or tutorial module offered by the MCAS-Pass Learning Lab features content that is distinct from that found in all other modules.
